i'm gonna use sam and seymour since they've changed a lot since i've last used them for this meme

1. Name:

Sam's birth name is Samuel Lawrence Pendleton, but they changed their last name to "Earnest" and it kinda stuck. They prefer to be just called "Sam".

Seymour's birth name is Seymour Pendleton. He's always kept it the same, other than a few aliases he's had to use.

2. Age:

Sam is 865 years old in their canon.
Seymour is 876 years old in his canon.

3. Gender:

Sam is a DMAB femme nonbinary individual.
Seymour is a cisgendered male.

4. How tall is s/he are they?

Sam is 5 feet and 7 inches tall.
Seymour is 6 feet and 1 inch tall.

5. Describe their eyes:

Sam's eyes are very plainly red, but they lean towards more of a ruby or brick red.
Seymour's eyes are turquoise/teal.

6. Sexuality:

Sam is panromantic pansexual.
Seymour is panromantic gray asexual.

7. Race/Species:

Both Sam and Seymour are human.

8. Siblings?

Sam and Seymour are eachother's siblings. They have a younger brother named Travis.
Order of birth was Seymour => Sam => Travis.

9. Lover(s)?

Sam is kind of indifferent to romance, but they have had like one or two lovers before.
(In meta, Sam is paired with Zania predominantly. Other pairings include Destati, Ceazar, Liber, Charlie Hoffman, Sunny Garamscythe, and on-and-off with a Bruce Richards.)

Seymour stays away from being in romantic relationships because he tends to fall in love with mortals a lot. He does daydream about being in a fluffy, lovey-dovey relationship though.
(In meta, Seymour isn't really paired with anyone predominantly. He's often paired with Destati, Ceazar, and Starrdust Garamscythe.)

10. Any talents or abilities, even if these are included in your canon (i.e. they can fly, but they live with angels, so everyone can fly)?

Sam has a talent for tinkering with and building things. They also are terrifyingly skillful with a knife or any sharp object you put in their hand. They can also climb things eerily quickly.
Seymour is amazing at cooking and baking, but he's been doing it for over 8 centuries.

They're both very good at singing. Seymour can dance, too.

11. Any talents and abilities that are unusual in their canon (i.e. a psychic human in real life)?

Well, they're both immortal, so.

12. What’s their religion/belief system?

Both Sam and Seymour were raised Christian.

Sam fell out of Christianity upon realizing they were immortal, and is now Agnostic.
Seymour tries to stay within Christianity, but he's been alive for so long that he doesn't know what to believe in anymore.

13. Have you ever renamed, redesigned, or reworked this person? How?

Sam went through a series of betas, but they used to be an extremely whiny, ungrateful, stuck-up cis guy with a Napoleon complex. Their acts of violence were all talk, and they didn't have their fluffy brown hair.
Seymour used to be really, really oblivious and cheesy about everything.

They both used to not be POC.

14. Do they have an alternate form?

Nope.

15. Are they based on a real person?

Some of Sam's traits are actually based somewhat off of my older sister and my mother. Moreso my older sister.

16. Or another character?

Sam and Seymour are based off of the Slenderman and the Splendorman respectively.

17. Do they go to school?

Sam used to go to renew their medical license, but then their paranoia about the government grew worse and they just stopped sometime after WW2.

Seymour sometimes goes to classes for fun.

18. How often do they spend in front of a mirror?

For Sam, it's just long enough to pick themself apart.
Seymour spends some of his morning right after waking up in front of the mirror to make himself look presentable.

19. If given a gun, what would they do?

Sam would throw it away. They think guns kill the climax too soon.
Seymour would also throw it away, but out of fear.

20. What do they like wearing?

Both Sam and Seymour dress really formally.

Sam sticks with black suits, sweaters and ties. Sometimes they'll throw in reds or burgundies. They love wearing pastel-coloured dresses, but they're scared of being judged for it.

Seymour mainly wears blues and teals when not wearing black. He enjoys polka-dot printed things. You can usually find him wearing a hat when he's out of the house, and he'd never leave home without a red bowtie.

21. Describe their hair:

Sam's hair is a soft, curly mop of fluff. It's chocolate brown.
Seymour's hair is a very, very dark brown. (It looks black even.) When not styled, it just hangs down. He usually styles it so it has a perky flip to it.

22. Where does this character live?

They both live around London, England, UK. It's a 10-15 minute drive from Sam to Seymour's house and vice-versa.

23. Can they cook?

Sam's cooking is OK but not great.
Seymour's cooking is fantastic.

24. Would they enjoy a surprise party thrown for them?

Sam wouldn't very much because they'd spend the entirety of their birthday genuinely wondering if everyone actually forgot them. They'd just break down into tears by the end of the day when they're taken to the surprise party because they'd see everyone as being really mean for playing with their feelings like that.

Seymour would love surprise parties!!

25. Have they ever killed someone? Who? Why?

Sam has casually tortured and killed a lot of people out of boredom or for 'science'. They even were Jack the Ripper because they were just. So. Bored. They've definitely killed people for their own cadavers.
They've mostly stopped killing out of their paranoia and their now being  a total shut-in.

Seymour has never killed anyone. Okay, maybe one or two people, but that was self-defense.

26. Do they feel guilty about that killing/multiple killings?

Sam doesn't feel any remorse for it.
Seymour feels guilty.

27. Any secrets?

Sam keeps their basement a secret. It's not healthy to have so many instruments of torture and it's most certainly not healthy to be the one who made all of them. They keep their self harm a secret for the most part, but they often have trouble coming up with excuses as to why they have their arms wrapped up. They do most definitely keep how they do it secret, though. (Staples and needles are their current interest at the moment. Their fingers have been constantly bandaged up lately.)
Sam also keeps the fact that they've been very lightly (used to be just 'lightly' before WW2) torturing Travis for the last few centuries a secret between just themself and Travis.

Seymour had to do a lot of things to keep a roof over his and his little siblings' heads. Even in spite of being gray asexual, he still has trouble being comfortable with sex as a whole. Seymour also keeps the fact that he's just not as happy as people see him as a secret and bottles every negative feeling he has up. Seymour knows that that's not healthy at all, but he feels he absolutely needs to keep a smile on for everyone else to be happy.

28. Do they have a tattoo? Do they want one?

Sam and Seymour have never experienced interests in tattoos.

29. What about piercings?

No.

30. Medical conditions?

Sam has High Functioning Autism coupled with traits of actual sociopathy.
Seymour has depression.

31. Are they generally violent?

Sam, yes. (In private, mainly)
Seymour, no.

32. Are they shy or outgoing?

Sam is actually very shy.
Seymour's outgoing for the most part.

33. Honest or deceitful?

Sam can be very deceitful. Seymour tells the truth wholly and is a terrible liar.

34. Optimistic or Pessimistic?

Sam is a realist.
Seymour's thing is optimism, come on.

35. Loving or distant?

Seymour is very loving, while Sam can be emotionally distant.
(Sam does love their brothers very dearly, though.)

36. Young or old?

They both look young, but they're actually over 8 centuries old.
Sam looks to be in the age range of 18-22. Seymour looks to be 23-24.

37. Bad or good?

Sam is extremely grey.
Seymour is super good!

38. Are they good at winning an argument?

Sam is good at arguments up until a certain point. (Mind your temper, Sam.)
Seymour doesn't like getting into arguments, so he'll just do whatever makes the other person happy.

39. Name something unusual about them:

They're both immortal.

40. Are they a virgin?

Both Sam and Seymour have had sex before.

41. Have they ever had sex with their own gender?

Sam hasn't had sex with other non-binary individuals.
Seymour has had sex with other cisgendered men.

42. Name some prejudices s/he has:

The two of them aren't prejudiced at all, actually.
(But hey, that's because they're both POC, on the LGBTQA+/MOGII spectrum, and both mentally ill.  //laughs weakly)

43. Give me something random about them:

Don't leave Sam alone with candy. It'll disappear very quickly.
Seymour bakes a lot of cake in his spare time and he'll often give it away to shelters.

They both smell strongly of candy/sweet things. (Sam being chocolate and Seymour being cake icing.)
They both can speak French due to France and England's prolonged history together.

44. Do they drink?

Sam likes wine.
Seymour hates the taste of alcohol.

45. Smoke?

Both Sam and Seymour have never smoked.

46. Do drugs?

Neither of them do drugs.

47. Are they addicted to anything?

No.

48. What’s their impression on people at first glance?

A first glance at Sam in public is "aww look how cute, they're so quiet and mild-mannered"
A first glance at Seymour in public is "awww how cute i bet he loves making people happy"

49. Is this true once they’re more well known to someone?

First impression of Sam in public = No.
First impression of Seymour in public = Absolutely.

50. Name something that’s different about them now than when you first came up with them:

Sam is both taller and shorter than they used to be.
Seymour is a lot smarter than he used to be.

51. Is there anything about this character that’s surprising to you?

I'm surprised how I've grown so attached to them both hhh
And I'm also surprised how little I draw Seymour, oh no.

52. How was their childhood?

Seymour had a pretty normal childhood (for the 1100's) until his mother died at age 10 from illness. He was pretty devastated by it, but he had to move on. When his father remarried, Seymour was delighted with the addition of Sam to the family at age 11. Seymour would play with Sam a lot whenever Sam wasn't clinging to their own mother. Seymour experienced two more losses when Sam and Travis' mother died in childbirth when Travis was born, and when the three's father killed himself via hanging. Seymour buried the body himself while making sure that Travis and Sam didn't see. He was 16. From then on, he scrambled about to make sure Sam and Travis were clothed and fed and had somewhere warm to sleep.

Sam's childhood was pretty normal for the 5 years they spent having both of their parents around. Then their mother went into the ground after Travis was born and their father just disappeared one day. It was obviously Travis' fault in Sam's mind, and with Seymour beginning to be around less, there was no one to stop them from thinking so.

Sam's favourite games they came up with themself when Travis was around 5 or 6 were 'Meat Doll' and 'Swimming'. Both involved Travis.

53. What’s one of their weaknesses?

If you threaten their brothers or the lovely family of young ladies who live close by  (Johnson-Atpulov family), Sam will do whatever you want or lash out horribly at you. Or just give them candy for extremely minor things.
A weakness of theirs in general is that they overanalyze and have a rather bleak outlook on themself.

Seymour would do anything for his siblings' happiness and survival and I mean anything.
A general weakness is his tendency to bottle everything up.

54. Their greatest strength?

Sam is extremely smart and resourceful. They are an excellent planner and would make a wonderful tactician.
Seymour is literally very strong due to his history of work. He's extremely optimistic and tries his best to see the bright side of things + he has an extremely strong will.

55. Something they hate:

Sam doesn't like a lot of things but for the love of god do not trash talk women or trans individuals in front of them. Don't. Don't.
Seymour says he doesn't hate anything, but he actually doesn't like it when people act really ungrateful despite being super privileged. Like he's been working his way up with his own sweat and tears and blood just to be able to live stably for the past 860 years, of course he would have a disdain for people who're ungrateful.

56. Something they love:

Sam loves being able to go over to Miss Johnson's house. They don't even have to talk for Sam to feel comfortable and at ease.
Seymour loves the time he's able to spend with friends and family.

57. How’s their self esteem?

Sam's self esteem is pretty low.
Seymour's self esteem is average.

58. One thing they hate about themselves:

Sam doesn't like the way they overanalyze, but they do it anyway.
Seymour doesn't like it when he throws himself into work to avoid problems, but he does it anyway.

59. One thing they love about themselves:

Sam loves their smarts.
Seymour loves his optimistic view on life.

60. How’s their ego?

Sam's ego in front of friends is actually pretty high. They act pretty confident in their ideas and actions, but then again, there's a reason "Oh No!" is one of their theme songs.
("I feel like I'm the worst, so I act like I'm the best")

Seymour's very humble.

61. Describe their past:

Ok so childhood was already described, so I'm just going to paraphrase what notable things happened afterward in no real chronological order.

-Everyone stays together until America's colonialized. (Travis goes to America)

-Seymour goes to America to fight on America's side in the American Revolutionary War.
-Sam follows him, but fights on the opposite side just because they're bored.
-Sam nearly gets frickin' bayonetted by Travis.
-Seymour and Sam decide not to do any more wars ever.

-Sam becomes Jack The Ripper in the 19th century for a bit.
-Seymour doesn't even know, but "Wow this leather binding is so pretty I can't believe you made it yourself Sammy!"

-WW1
-Sam and Seymour get the hell out of dodge when London is finally successfully bombed, but Seymour is really reluctant because the family home is there. Sam just wanted to leave as soon as bombs started falling on other parts of England, but they know that they're the only thing keeping Seymour from being drafted. (Seymour lists himself as the only "capable" male in the home because they both know that there is something very off about Sam.)
-They stay in America for a while and look after Travis' home.
-They go back home to help rebuild. (And by some stroke of luck, their home is intact.)

-WW2
-Sam wants to leave as soon as the war starts, but Seymour is still attached emotionally to the house.
-Seymour actually leaves and goes back to Travis' in America after Travis is honorably discharged after getting his leg blown off.
-Sam and Seymour stay with Travis for a long time, even after WW2 ends.

-When they're both confident that Travis has recovered fully from addiction, and that Travis' new friend (and therapist) Destati can keep an eye on him properly, Sam and Seymour go back to London.
-The family home has been destroyed utterly.
-Sam and Seymour rebuild, but Sam ends up moving out and into their own home.

-The two remain in the same houses to this day.

62. How was their family life?

Sam and Seymour are on pretty good terms.
Seymour and Travis have a father-son relationship despite being brothers. Seymour will do anything to keep up the idea that he's Travis' father just to keep Travis happy. (Because Travis legitimately believes that Seymour is his father.)
Sam and Travis are pretty broken, but they have their moments of normalacy. (Seymour doesn't know that they're broken.)

63. Are they happy now? Why?

Seymour is happy where he is in life because he knows that himself, Sam, and Travis have roofs over their heads, are properly clothed, and (hopefully) properly fed. He's confident that they'll never have to know poverty ever again.
Sam is very apathetic to where they are in life. They just kind of. Are.

64. Do you like them?

yES I LOVE MY BABIES

65. Would you get along with them if you met them in real life?

granted that they never found out i'm their creator, sure

66. Would they like you?

see #65

67. Are they smart?

Sam and Seymour are very smart.

68. Are they tricky?

Sam's the tricky one.

69. Do you know how they are going to die?

Yes.

70. Do you plan on killing them off?

It's inevitable in the fanadventure.

71. Do they like to read?

They're both very well-read people, but Sam loves reading moreso than Seymour.

72. What’s their favorite… book?

Sam loves 'House of Leaves' and the Hannibal Lecter series. "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" series is also another set of favourites for them.
Seymour enjoys 'Alice In Wonderland'.

73. Movie?

Sam's favourite movie is Shutter Island. (And of course they've read the book to that one, too, already.)
Seymour's favourite movie is Pixar's Up.

74. Person?

Celebrity and historical person-wise, Sam was enamoured with Elizabeth Báthory. And Seymour knows that Frank Sinatra was a man of his times, but he still had a fancrush on him.

As for people they actually know.
Seymour's favourite people are his siblings.
Sam's favourite people are their siblings and maybe Zania.

75. Time of day?

Sam is a night person while Seymour's more of an mid-morning to early-afternoon person.

76. Animal?

Both Sam and Seymour adore cats.

77. Thing to do?

Sam's favourite thing to do is tinker with things. It helps them calm down. (They've taken apart and put Travis' prosthetic leg back together so many times it's actually better than it initially was.)
Seymour's favourite thing to do is stargaze. He even converted his attic into a makeshift observatory.

78. Are you tired of this meme yet? xD

Much emotions. Wow. So feels.

what an interesting way to develop characters. I should try this with Tim. Since I still haven't worked his whole profile out.
